A magnificent trio of fine wines designed to delight even the most demanding of connoisseurs:

2012 Hautes Cotes de Beaune, Domaines Lechauve
Bright, cherry red. Whole red berry fruits on the nose, raspberry, cherry. Clean, crisp, ripe fruit on the palate, lovely fine tannins, no harsh edges at all. Good acidity and balance and medium long finish. Proper Burgundy, beautifully crafted and a bit of a steal.

2013 Petit Chablis, Jean Durup

Jean Durup originally built up his domaine largely by acquiring and re-planting land that was abandoned after WWII, a man of foresight. The new generation in charge, led by Jean-Paul Durup together with his cousin, Frederic Guegin. The domaine makes traditional, 'terroir wines'; very pure showing steely minerality without any use of oak. All his wines undergo malolactic fermentations, and are impeccably made in modern cellars at Maligny.
This is a very good Petit Chablis which is hardly surprising as his 'Petit' vineyards are right next to his Premie
